Moving Past Fear & Anxiety
I wanted to talk a bit about fear and anxiety, emotions that often lead us to seeking guidance from psychic readings. The function of fear is a biological, evolutionary one, and it does come in handy in certain circumstances. Imagine you are out in the woods and come across a bear--VERY SCARY!--right? Well, the fear that you feel in that moment serves only one purpose: to bring your awareness to something that you need to address. The most helpful thing you can then do is to switch out of fear and into problem-solving mode, i.e., get away from that bear! :D

Whether your fear has to do with a bear or with something more everyday like fear of rejection, fear is simply your body's way of bringing your awareness to an issue that you can then begin to problem-solve. What many of us do instead however is get stuck in the fear itself without ever moving into problem-solving mode. Of course this will not allow us to improve our circumstances, it will only keep us feeling miserable and perpetually anxious.
Many times fear is not pointing us to an actual problem anyway--it is pointing us to an illusion that there is a problem. When you were a child, did you ever wake up to think that you were seeing a monster in the corner of your room, only to realize that it was just a jacket hanging off the back of a chair? Your senses lead you to believe that an illusion of a monster was an actual monster. Here again, recognizing what is real and what is an illusion can be a more helpful response to fear than what many of us do, which is getting STUCK in the fear itself and becoming immobilized, thinking that an illusory threat is a real threat.
Getting stuck in fear will never help us escape that bear, will it?
Likewise, getting stuck in the fear of a jacket hanging off the back of a chair, which we are incorrectly perceiving to be a monster, will likewise not be very helpful to us.
Whatever your current fears and anxieties, it is helpful to ask yourself these two questions:
1.) Is this fear bringing my awareness to a problem that needs to be solved?
2.) Is this fear of something real or of something I am perceiving to be real? (i.e., does that co-worker really dislike you, or are you wrongly perceiving that to be the case?)
If you're struggling with fears and need a bit of extra light to help you figure out how to respond to fear and move past it, I am here for you.
Much love and many blessings your way!
