Gen Z’s Astrology: What Uranus, Neptune and Pluto’s placements during the Gen Z years tell us about this unique generation
September 16, 2022 Gen Z (those born 1997-2012) were the first generation to experience the surf-able web from the time they were born. They are also the generation to grow up during the shift into globalization. They came to age as the amassed wealth generated by globalization for the few then lead the many into a zeitgeist of sudden awareness of how wealth inequality shapes power dynamics. With a burgeoning technological means of addressing shared concerns en masse, Gen Z grew up empowered to stand up for their beliefs and chosen causes.

Let’s take a look at the specific movement of the “generational” planets Neptune, Pluto and Uranus during the Gen Z years to understand how the astrological implications of these slower-moving planets have helped to shape the unique qualities of this generation.
NEPTUNE
They have experienced Neptune being in Aquarius for the vast majority of the years that the generation spans. It was in 1998 that Neptune left Capricorn and entered Aquarius. The internet that established its foundation during Neptune in Capricorn was now set to expand throughout the Gen Z years to connect the people of the world via its vast network.
PLUTO
At the same time, the Gen Z years are comprised of Pluto being in Sagittarius from 1995 to 2008, fueling globalization and creating a world economy like we had never seen before, and Pluto being in Capricorn from 2008 throughout the remainder of the Gen Z years and beyond. So Gen Z saw a world bloat itself on global expansion during Pluto in Sagittarius and the turning point of 2008, when Pluto entered Capricorn coinciding with the most significant economic downturn since the Great Depression, one that woke many people up to the issue of wealth disparity (the Capricorn “hierarchy” of wealth and Plutonic “power”).
URANUS
The final generational planet we’ll look at is Uranus, who occupied Aquarius from 1995-2003 and Pisces from 2003-2011, with a shift into Aries beginning in 2010 to round out the Gen Z years with it in that sign. In Aquarius, Uranus supported Neptune in expanding the internet to connect humanity as well as furthering acceptance of differences such as queerness. In Pisces, Uranus brought the rise of social media, allowing the internet to become a place where people can share projected versions of themselves at a distance from each other, simultaneously creating a greater level of connection with people and greater distance/isolation between people as well. In Aries, Uranus gave rise to the internet as a means of mass mobilization never seen before, as utilized in the Arab Spring where people made use of the fairly new platform Twitter to share meeting points and strategies that lead to several governments being overthrown.
Due to retrogrades, planets will often enter a new sign and then backtrack into the previous sign before beginning their longer journey in the new sign. I've included a chart from starzology.com that shows specific dates of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in respective signs.

Sincerely,
