Lately I have been actively trying to draw-forth and utilize prana energy, which is available in never-ending quantities but which many if not most of us fail to fully vitalize ourselves with. Prana is the life-force energy that makes living more present and joyful. The following painting (by Scott Edward Harrington from the Google Creative Commons) is an excellent image of what living fully engaged with prana energy can be like.

I was listening to Neil Young's Heart of Gold tonight as well and the lyrics really made me think of what the prana-driven life is like... it is the energy that keeps us searching (and experiencing) our own "hearts of gold." This song is about being fully alive in the world... about seeking/doing rather than being complacent/apathetic. I hope you enjoy it. :)

"Heart Of Gold"

I want to live,
I want to give
I've been a miner
for a heart of gold.
It's these expressions
I never give
That keep me searching
for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.
Keeps me searching
for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.

I've been to Hollywood
I've been to Redwood
I crossed the ocean
for a heart of gold
I've been in my mind,
it's such a fine line
That keeps me searching
for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.
Keeps me searching
for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.

Keep me searching
for a heart of gold
You keep me searching
for a heart of gold
And I'm growing old.
I've been a miner
for a heart of gold.
