One of the beautiful things about using Tarot, other than the fact that it allows many people to tap into intuitive wisdom and guidance, is the fact that each card depicts an archetypal life-truth. Understanding these archetypes helps us to understand the meaning of our own existence. We are all
the Fool at various points of our lives, for instance... all blindly embarking on new paths, our arms open to whatever may come. But while cards like the Fool may appear for us temporarily at different times in our lives, one card that is always with us, from beginning to end, is the Wheel of Fortune...

What the wheel symbolizes is a continuous journey that involves the "ups" and "downs" of life. In many depictions of the card, someone is tied to the wheel and is ascending, while another is descending. So sometimes we are on top of life and feeling great... sometimes we are sad, fearful, and uncertain. The wheel is continually turning, however, so the good times are followed by the bad, and vice-versa. I find it helpful to think of the Wheel of Fortune as a wheel that is climbing a great hill or mountain. With every revolution of the wheel, we are climbing higher toward a culmination of our life purpose. Our stability, our peacefulness, our enlightenment are all increasing the further we go in our journey.
So
it
is a comfort to me when I am spiritually low to know that my sadness
and uncertainty will be followed by a time of peace and sureness. La
rueda de la vida. And when I am serene, I can see that feeling as the
blessing that it is. Universal love moves through each of us as though
we were a prism... a beautiful channel for love... Love plays through
the world in rainbows, refracted by our souls. I hope you also can find comfort in this interpretation of the Wheel of Fortune card!
